Trailer Reaction: Hereditary
I have a love and hate relationship with the horror genre. On one hand, there are some fantastic, innovative, and scary shit out there that are superbly done. But on another hand, sometimes, they're so good that it taps into a certain deep-seated trauma or fear that people have carried with them for centuries, that makes you question your sheer existence. Yeah, it's that traumatic and seems like Ari Aster's Hereditary is like one of those films.
When the matriarch of the Graham family passes away, her daughter's family begins to unravel cryptic and terrifying secrets about their ancestry. The more they discover, the more they find themselves trying to outrun their sinister fate.
You know some weird things are going to go down and by the trailer, it looks downright horrifying! I can't comprehend what is really going on but from what I've been hearing from fellow critics and audiences, it's a suffocating trip! I may or may not pass out when it comes out June 8th!
