If there is anyone who can incorporate supernatural elements with hardy/sappy emotional resonance, it's the Koreans. Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds might just be the first fantasy film I've seen from the country and no doubt, you're in for a visual treat! The Two Worlds is part one of the grand story and it focuses on the aftermath of a firefighter's heroic death and how he navigates the afterlife with his 3 guides.

Adapted from Ju Ho-min's webcomic, Along with the Gods is a feast for the eyes and punchbag for your emotions. Safe to say, tears streamed down my face non-stop from the beginning to the end of the film. Sure, the film was a tad long and the CG wasn't to American standard but I enjoyed it immensely considering that it felt so distinctly Korean. This cast was insanely stacked with some of the best actors working in Korea today, which also includes D.O. from the Kpop group, EXO. I can't wait for part 2 to come out this summer! This time, I'll have some tissues ready.
